It would be preferable to use Annelida list rather than Elin's original list for
any public comment. Obviously direct personal concerns to Elin only.
Nechama Ben-Eliahu has asked who now is the editorial committee. That is
a question of some interest. - GBR.

Subject: Notice of a change of journal for 7IPC
Date sent: Wed, 28 Nov 2001 16:02:25 +0000
Dear all,
This is to inform you that the proceedings of the 7th International
Polychaete Conference (7IPC) will not be published in Bulletin of Marine
Science as planned. Instead, a special volume of the international journal
Hydrobiologia, as well as a hardbound in the bookseries "Developments in
Hydrobiology".
This change of journal is because of unexpected cost increase by the
Bulletin of Marine Science. This increased cost became apparent shortly
after
the conference and would have caused serious financial difficulties.
Therefore, we had no choice but to find a new affordable but highly
qualified
journal. This was not an easy task, but we believe that contract with
Hydorbiologica has resolved this issue.
Hydrobiologia has a high academic standard and the printing quality of the
journal is high. Further information about the journal and instructions for
authors can be downloaded from the Kluwer Academic Publishers
Homepage:
http://www.wkap.nl/journals/hydrobiologia.
As before with BMS there will be a page charge in Hydrobiologica. For
each page exceeding 8 printed pages there will be a charge of $50 per
page.
This change of journal required a change in the editorial staff and the
editing process. The continued editorial work will be handled by a committee
lead by Elín Sigvaldadóttir. The editorial committee includes native English
speaking persons.
All future correspondence should be addressed to Elin. The address is:
Icelandic Institute of Natural History, Box 5320, 125 Reykjavík, Iceland, E-
mail: elins at ni.is
We realize that this change of journal may not be acceptable to some
authors. Therefore, it is very important that authors of all submitted
manuscripts will contact Elin (elins at ni.is) not later than by 31st of
December to confirm (or withdraw) submittal to Hydorbiologica.
Abstracts from the conference will be published in the proceedings.
Authors not wishing to include their abstracts should contact Guðmundur V.
Helgason (gudmvid at hi.is) as soon as possible or not later than December
31.
Best regards
The editorial committee
