In the Taxonomic atlas of the Benthic Fauna of the Santa Maria Basin and
Western Santa Barbara Channel, Dr. James Blake noted in his description of
Orbiniidae that many species and even genera within the subfamily
Protoariciinae may not be valid. I am especially interested in the
status/validity of Pararicia, a genus Dr. Blake suggested to be based on a
holotype that was really a juvenile of some Naineris species. Has this issue
been resolved?
