An online interactive key to polychaete worm families and higher taxa
(POLiKEY version 2) is now available on the web site of the Australian
Biological Resources Study
( http://www.ea.gov.au/biodiversity/abrs/online-resources/polikey/index.html).
POLiKEY contains 104 polychaete taxa, comprising 17 higher-level taxa, 82
families and five subfamily groups. POLiKEY allows the user to obtain
identifications of adult polychaetes from any part of the world as well as
family descriptions and general information on taxonomy, biology and
ecology. The key will be of interest not only to polychaete biologists, but also
to ecologists conducting environmental surveys, university staff as a
teaching aid for students, and anyone requiring rapid access to comparative
systematic information on polychaetes.
and best of all ... it's free!
