Dear colleagues,
Desbruyères and Toulmond (1998) in their description of the ice worm,
Hesiocaeca methanicola, explicitly took a 'conservative position, waiting for
further analysis' in assigning this species to Hesiocaeca although they were
aware that Pleijel (1998) assigned it to Sirsoe (as Sirsoe A) and considered
Hesiocaeca as incertae sedis.
Does anyone know whether the generic affiliation of methanicola has been
revised in the meantime?
