Tube dwelling Phyllodoce of southern North Sea

Hi Hans,

If you only have a single specimen, my guess is that the worm used the 
(probably empty) tube as a place to hide (perhaps only because you or your 
collecting gear disturbed it). If there are lots of tubes with worms in them, 
that is something else. I don't recall seeing or hearing of any phyllodocids 
that build tubes with sand grains, although some of them might make temporary 
mucous tubes.  

Perhaps Fredrik Pleijel can shed more light on this.
