Dear Alexandros,
Sorry for replying later to your request about news on the life cycle of
Diopatra neapolitana in the Mediterranean. Ti this respect, I can send you two
papers, both however are in italian. One is a paper by Conti e Massa, 1998 (in
Biol. Mar. Medit. 5(3): 1473-1480) on Diopatra nepolita rearing tecniques, in
whih the AA partially describe the life cycle. The other is a much more
technical paper by De Murtas e Sini 2002 (in Quaderni Scientifici Lega Pesca,
Roma n.5: 6-50) in which the AA already have developed and describe in details
(also with many pictures) a "commercial" rearing of D. neapolitana within the
coastal lagoon of Santa Gilla near Cagliari (Sardinia). The technique about
the commercial rearing of this species are relatively advanced in Italy and
you should contact these people all working in Sardinia! You should send me
your mail address and I can send you the papers.
With my best regards, Maria Cristina Gambi
