I don't know for sure, but that press release might relate to a popular
article "Tender Loving Leeches" by Fred Govedich about to appear in the July
issue of "Australasian Science." Or it might not.

Last I heard the Australian species was thought to be the same as the European
Helobdella, which is the same as that from some other places. That is it's
probably an alien invasive ... if it is the same that is. The ecology seems to
differ a bit between locations.
