Hello. I am a graduate student working with macrofauna off the coast of New
Jersey. Species assemblages in my study area are dominated by Polygordius sp.
Although studies have been conducted in this area in the past this polychaete
has not been identified to the species level and it is possible that more than
one species is present. I have been collecting literature on Polygordius,
however, none thus far has been sufficient to make a positive identification.
I am very interested in this Family both in terms of taxonomy and life history
characteristics. It would be very helpful to see some other examples of
Polygordius from other areas. If anyone has any preserved specimens that they
would not mind sending to me I would be very grateful. I am looking for
specimens identified to either genus or species. My address is listed below.
Thank you...
Sincerely,
Patricia Ramey
On specimens please include:
Date collected, location (place or lat/long if you have them), collector,
method (s) of preservation and return address if necessary etc.
