Subject: Nereididae ID
To: annelidae at net.bio.net
hello -
I have a question to all Nereid experts out there. With the key we are
using most frequently (Uebekacker & Johnson 1984), in order to determine the
difference between several genera, you must be able to see the armament on
the pharynx. It seems to me that most of the specimens in our samples have
not died with the pharynx everted. Does anyone have advice on dissection
techniques? Otherwise, we have to leave the ID at family level.
thanks
