Scott,
There has been so much change in the spionid systematics over the years
since the book was published that I would be very cautious in using the
book. For its time, the book was something very new; lots of illustrations
and so forth, but over the last 30 years so many people have added new
species, revised genera and so forth, that it must be considered out-dated.
If you can use the illustrations, linked to more modern analyses, that could
be a great help, but presumably only in Central California.

I was wondering if any of you out there use this book to tackle Spionids.
More to the point, do you use it to ID them outside of the San Francisco
Bay
area?
thanks in advance for this list's generous help!!
