Dear all,
The last I heard the JGI was well into sequencing "C. capitata" and
are probably close to a draft sequence sometime soon. I believe that
they used "Grassle species number #1". The important thing is not
that they use C. capitata sensu stricto but that they use the one
that has been used for developmental and genetic studies. Elaine
Seaver (evo-devo type) passed them the DNA and they are well aware of
the species complex/naming issues.
So too late to advise them which one to use, but not too late to get
a proper name on the beast they are using.
