Hello,
My comment is that surely in any revision, whether on morphological or
molecular grounds, the name must be anchored to the type specimen.
Often there are errors of taxonomic descriptions and figures (even in the
originals), irrespective of how detailed or meticulous the study is - it's
normal human nature. This is also the key issue with barcoding: you may
get similarity or dissimilarity but the real question, as always, is:
Is it the same as the type?
