Dear All,
I'm providing the polychaete expertise to a NIWA project on the
molecular/morphological phylogeography of Chaetopterus species in the
Pacific and Southern Hemisphere, with particular reference to New
Zealand species. We are seeking ethanol-fixed specimens for sequencing
particularly from Australia, South America, Southern Africa, the Pacific
islands, and around the Pacific rim, but would be happy to take them
from anywhere if they are from populations not already sequenced.
Could you let me know if there are ethanol-fixed specimens available
that could be sent to us now? If you have no material at the moment I
would much appreciate it if you could fix some for us in ethanol when
you get live worms in the near future.
Your help with this project would be most useful to us, and we will
share the molecular information gained on your specimens with you.
Also we're very interested in collaboration with existing Chaetopterus
projects and experts. Those that I know about have already given us good
advice, and have been very positive about working with us if I haven't
contacted you yet then please get in touch.
Thanks,
Geoff
