Asunto: polychaetes from high-altitude Andean lakes

Dear colleagues,

I am currently supporting a Colombian research group doing work into
invertebrate benthic assemblages from high-altitude lakes in the Andean
Cordillera, at a strategic corridor between paramo and montane ecosystems.
Previous work in the area has recorded the presence of a few species of
annelids which can not be allocated to known species.

We are currently writting down a research proposal for funding, in which
an expert on polychaete taxonomy is required. I would appreciate if any of
you would consider to be in our supervisor panel. If so, you may want to
decide whether your involvement in the project may be only nominal in
support of our grant application (I would cite your name in the panel of
experts), and/or whether you would like to receive (or direct it to a
colleague) the annelid material for taxonomical description. Please let me
know. By the way, sampling will take place between May and October 2007,
so specimens will be available throughout and from the end of the project
onwards.

I can e-mail you a copy of the proposal (very simple, easy to read,
research proposal = 1/2 page) for you to figure out what the project is
aiming at.

Kindest regards from Spain, Salva
