Subject: New book on polychaetes
Dear all,
Wanting to all you an excellent one 2010, I have the pleasure of
informing you that we have carried out all of the necessary
adjustments to facilitate buying the book "Poliquetos (Annelida:
Polychaeta) de Mexico y America Tropical". The distribution will be
done by ourselves and for this end we have generated a website
(www.biosistematica.com).
It took us some weeks because we were looking for the most economic
form for the shippings, which will be made by MEXPOST. Also, you will
notice differences in the cost depending on the geographical region to
where the book shall be sent.
Poliquetos (Annelida: Polychaeta) de Mexico y America Tropical is an
unusual effort carried out by 30 authors from Brazil, Colombia, United
States, Venezuela and Mexico. The region is extraordinarily rich and
it contains several megadiverse countries. Thus, the contents is of
about 570 genera and almost 2,100 species.
The volume is in Spanish, divided in three parts and its contents are
separated in two sections; the biggest one contains 50 chapters to
facilitate the identification of the species of each family and they
have a synthesis on its systematics, morphology; keys and distribution
data, illustrations (color, black and with and draw plates), and
commentaries on doubtful species records; while the minor includes
revisions about the ecology of the group. This work will be very
useful for students or interested colleagues working on marine biology
or ecology.
