FYI.

On 19 September, 2011 the World Polychaeta Database was launched at http://www.marinespecies.org/

As with the other taxa with their own web interface, it's a bannered overlay over the standard WoRMS database (based at Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ)), and it enables fast, direct access to Polychaeta-related information. Users who work via http://www.marinespecies.org/polychaeta/ also now get to see a nice map if there's distribution or type locality data entered (example: http://www.marinespecies.org/polychaeta/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=579997).

If anyone is curious about the Panamanian polynoid in the centre of the banner, or could provide an id, see the original image here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/artour_a/498890410/in/set-72157601236218956/. It sure isn't a Lepidonotus. The other banners images are a New Zealand Ambylosyllis, and a Branchiomma from Sao Tome, West Africa.

The digitisation of the vast amount of polychaete taxa & literature information online at WoRMS since 2007 is of course thanks principally to Kristian Fauchald, with help from some of you.

Enjoy (& contribute),

Geoff
