Hi Verônica,
In both 1850 and 1855 Grube used the double 'rr'. It is later authors that 'improved' the spelling. So it is Lopadorrhynchus and (probably) Lopadorrhynchidae. Looks to me as though the 1850 name is a nomen nudum, so the genus date is 1855. WoRMS is not up to date on this - will fix it real soon.
Claparède (1870:462) created Tribe des Lopadorhynchides single 'r' within the phyllodocids, apparently based on Lopadorrhynchus brevis Grube which he misspelled, and included a new genus Hydrophanes. This is where the error adopted by some began. Hartman cat (p.173-4) has the genus and family correctly spelled. Who am I to revisit her analysis?
Further comments by those who have worked on this genus/family would be welcome guidance.
Geoff

Subject: [Annelida] information
Dear Annelidans,
Can you help me please? Which name is the correct: Lopadorrhynchus Grube, 1850 or Lopadorhynchus Grube, 1855? How should we write the family name?
Best regards,
Verônica Oliveira
