Okay, the file did not get through the filters. It looks like a higher power is righteously protecting us from unsafe files, which would definitely include *.zip and *.xls.

Well, that's good, isn't it.

Sorry Paulo :-)

Geoff

Hi all,

I've zipped the Excel file and am attaching it here. The file should go through the filter now, but if not Paulo will need to put it on the web. That is the best place for it. Annelida filters will allow through text, html, images, and (hopefully temporarily now) zip packages. Adding *.zip has its dangers. DO NOT OPEN this or any other zip files in emails without scanning for viruses, or being very certain of the origin. Open at your own risk. However, I have scanned this Excel file and it is fine according to our antivirus program. Executable files are never permitted through lists of course. It is possible some list members email filters will automatically discard this message because of the attachment and they will not see it. I will confirm if the file got to the list.

All in all, anything other than plain text or small images is a problem when broadcast to public lists. The ability freely to send *.zip will be removed once this message is distributed. Put pdfs etc on a link on the web or send the files on request. There is also the question of copyright to be considered.

Please DO NOT reply to the list with questions for Paulo about the content of the file.

Thanks,

Geoff (Annelida Moderator)

Dear colleagues,

One of my students, Carolina Godinho, has kindly prepared a list of
worldwide polychaete researchers as an excel datasheet (appended file).
It seems we are more that 500 worm-lovers at this moment, including
students. The list was derived from a number of different sources, not
all of them updated. I did not check the list myself. However, I think
it can become a helpful resource with your aid.

I would greatly appreciate if you could check/correct/add your own
information. PLEASE DO NOT USE REPLY-TO IN SENDING YOUR CORRECTIONS!
Forward any corrections directly to me at lana from ufpr.br, with a copy to
Carolina at hava_bio from yahoo.com.br. Any other comments and corrections
will be most welcome.

The corrected list will be made available at the International
Polychaetological Association site (http://www.polychaeteassoc.com
<http://www.polychaeteassoc.com/>) as soon as I have your inputs.

Regards,

Paulo Lana
