alternative energy), telecommunications, dredged material disposal and
monitoring, and coastal development and mitigation.
This is for a Benthic Ecologist with taxonomic expertise, Polychaete
preferred.

The AECOM Marine & Coastal Center in Woods Hole, MA is seeking qualified
applicants for a senior staff position in the area of Marine Benthic
Ecology. The successful candidate will direct and manage projects in Marine
Ecology with an emphasis on the marine benthos. Evidence of taxonomic
expertise with one of the major marine benthic taxa (Crustacea or
Polychaeta) is required. The applicant must demonstrate relevant experience
with field sampling methods, database development, and use of multivariate
and univariate statistical methods to analyze benthic data, and report
writing. The successful candidate will also be expected develop client
contacts, seek out opportunities, and contribute to or lead proposal
efforts.
A MS or PhD in a marine-related discipline is preferred and at least 10
years experience. The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and
written communication skills; publications in the peer-reviewed literature
will serve to demonstrate scientific and technical writing skills.
Additional experience with the analysis and interpretation of seafloor
video or still images collected with remotely operated vehicles or other
camera systems would be a plus. The individual must be safety oriented and
at a minimum will be expected to complete the OSHA 40-Hr and 8-Hr
Supervisor Training and any additional training required by our clients.
Finally, the successful candidate needs to demonstrate a versatile
background and the ability to respond to interdisciplinary opportunities.
