Hi all,
Good news on WoRMS searches.
WoRMS (World Register of Marine Species) editors have long been able to do complex searches of the records. Now this set of fields is available for anyone to use.
Polychaeta interface: http://www.marinespecies.org/polychaeta/aphia.php?p=search&adv=1
Or all taxa: http://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=search&adv=1
You can swap back to the simple search if you wish.
Use your imagination, but you can now do things like get a list of invalid families (By: limit to Polychaeta, limit to family-level, limit to unaccepted, leave scientific name blank), and you will find that inter alia Palmyridae, Pholoididae, and Pisionidae are synonymised. You can also search for recent changes.
Also I draw your attention to the WoRMS RSS news feeds. For instance this one shows the latest Polychaeta notes: http://www.marinespecies.org/polychaeta/aphia.php?p=rss&what=notes
RSS feeds specific to Polychaeta are available from the stats page: http://www.marinespecies.org/polychaeta/aphia.php?p=stats and you can subscribe your browser to each of them.
Enjoy,
Don't forget to cite help from WoRMS in your papers.
