I too am very sorry to hear about Nechama. I am currently in Israel at Tel Aviv University and I spoke with Nechama a week ago, but I could tell she was suffering. I intended to visit her soon.
I visited her at Hadassah in 2011 and afterwards that year as well as last year. I have known her for many years and she visited with me at Yale and the Smithsonian. I have always greatly admired her energy, dedication and concern for science and especially for the collections on which the science is based. She was a true beacon for collections-based science in Israel. I know that she was greatly respected by many colleagues here and around the world.
We will all miss her, but will all be better people for having known and interacted with her.
My deepest sympathies to her family and other loved ones.
