Kristian Fauchald was the first person I met at my first international
polychaetological conference at Copenhagen, in 1986. I was young, I was
shy, I felt as a bird out of the nest. I did not know who was that
bearded guy, with a strange accent, who came to me, said hello and shook
hands. And then he introduced himself in the nicest way of the world, to
my utter amazement. I have not recovered from the shock as yet. Thanks
for everything, Kristian.
