Dear all,
Kristian's death feels like the end of an era. Our first contacts went back
to his Allan Hancock period, though we only met for the first time in 1979
when discussing the possibilities of a conference for polychaetologists
during a meeting of the American Society of Zoologist. As Northern
Europeans we had an immediate rapport, though it was difficult not to have
that with Kristian. My most vivid memories are that of a fortnight in the
AM in 1983, where we shared many moments of coffee, and that of "the pink
book alive", Kristian teaching Mexican students in Chetumal 2002. The IPC's
will not be the same.
