Hi folks
I am working with a Chinese student and we would love to sequence some material of Marphysa sanguinea from the English channel as close to the type locality as possible - so if anybody has some recently collected material from this area and fixed in alcohol we would be extremely grateful if you would be willing to send it to us and we can collaborate
We are currently describing some new species from China and doubt the validity of a recent paper which analysed the genetic diversity of M sanguinea from China in Biochemical Systematics and Ecology by Zhao et al (2106) which suggests five populations, based entirely on molecular and ignoring any morphological data., we suspect that M sanguinea does not actually occur in Chinese waters
Do hope we can locate some material many thanks in advance Pat
