The role
As part of our marine team you will be involved in benthic faunal sample
analysis for a variety of exciting projects from both the UK and abroad.
You will be given the opportunity to improve your taxonomic identification
skills with world experts and will run projects from initial enquiry
through to project sign off. You will be expected to give guidance to
junior members of the team and provide accurate reports to clients on time
and to budget.
The successful candidate must have the following:

  *   Experience of identification and verification of benthic fauna from
UK waters
  *   Experience of accurate biological data recording
  *   Degree in Marine Biology or related subject
  *   Ability to work to the pressures of a commercial laboratory
  *   An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
Ideally you will also have:

  *   Experience of identification of benthic fauna from non-UK waters
  *   Participation in benthic faunal surveys
  *   Master's degree in Marine Biology or a related subject
  *   Analysis of biological datasets using statistical packages such as
Primer and/or R.
If short-listed, candidates will be expected to demonstrate their skills
in identification of fauna.
This is a permanent position based in our modern offices in the
picturesque Surrey Research Park. The successful candidate will live
within commuting distance of Guildford or be prepared to relocate.
