Applications for the 2017 Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program (SIFP) are NOW being accepted!
SI Fellowship Program
(Including the Buck Fellowship Program and others)
Application deadline: Thursday, 1 December 2016
http://www.smithsonianofi.com/fellowship-opportunities/smithsonian-institution-fellowship-program/
Please share notice with colleagues and potential applicants. Did you know that more applications received to a program results in a larger portion of funds available to that program? It’s true, so please encourage all eligible candidates to apply now! A recruitment flyer is attached to help you share the word.
Annual Fellowship stipend award rates:
• $7,000/10-week Graduate Student Fellowship
• $32,700/year for SI Graduate Student and Predoctoral Fellowship
• $37,700/year for SI Earth Science Predoctoral Fellowship and Conservators
• $48,000/year for SI Postdoctoral Fellowship
• $48,000/year for Senior Researcher Fellowship
• $53,000/year for SI Earth Science Postdoctoral Fellowship
In addition to stipend, fellowship applicants can apply for a research allowance of up to $4,000 EACH YEAR.
NOTE: Please share clarification with your colleagues and applicants that the allowable research allowance of $4,000 is for EACH year. Thus, applicants seeking a multi-year fellowship tenure can include a research budget of up to $4,000 for each year of the requested term. The current wording on the application web site has confused applicants; thinking it’s a $4,000 total for the entire term.
