Hello everyone,
I am presently working up some core samples collected from microbial mat
covered sediments at cold seeps on Mud volcanoes in the Anaximander
seamounts off the coast of Turkey at ~2000 m deep. Currently working on
species ID and barcoding. Attached is an image of one of the common
critters we are finding. Could someone confirm that this is Spionidae and
if there any suggestions for the genus to get started on the “right track”
it would be most helpful.
If anyone has any recommendations for keys/publications useful for species
ID in this region please let me know. Most commonly I am finding
representatives from Spionidae, Ampharatidae, and Dorvilleidae.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Best,
Tricia
