Thanks for your nice words Eduardo! 
Of course this thechnique can be used with these kind of special especimens, but I'm afraid that CT images cannot replace the real animal in taxonomic work. In my opinion, no technique has been developed so far that can replace the careful study of the specimens under the microscope. 
About 3D printing ... no idea! But good idea to be explored! :-)

Fantastic work! 

Do you think this technique can be used with older museum specimens? It would be awesome to be able to non-destructively generate digital models of holotypes and paratypes that could save a lot of time, money and damage risk by avoiding the need to ship specimens around, thus greatly expediting systematic and taxonomic work. 

Another great use I see is that I believe these microCT digital objects can be readily converted into 3D prints.
