Dear colleagues,

my colleague Michela D’Alessandro and I have found some Spiophanes specimens
which morphologically are close to S. afer but differ for the length of
dorsal ciliated organs, colouration and eye presence. For these differences,
in our opinion our specimens belong to a new species. We have sequenced our
specimens for barcode and compared the sequences with Spiophanes species
sequences from Genbank. Unfortunally there are no sequences of S. afer
available.

Has anyone of you sequenced S. afer barcode? If yes, could you kindly share
it in order to allow us a comparison with ours?

Thank you in advance
