Dear Angel, Chris, and all who sent messages,

Thank you. I hope to continue also. I think I=92m good for just a few more =
years at WoRMS but there will come a time soon =85 and another generation =
will take over I=92m sure.
I=92ve enjoyed the intellectual challenge with sorting out some tricky bits=
of nomenclature & old taxonomy encountered, and gradually we are removing =
the errors, aided by the fantastic facility that is BHL, and expanding our =
coverage to all annelids, not just marine. It=92s also great to see so much=
good new work on annelids getting published, and recently to have two very=
different annelids in the top ten new species discoveries of the decade. W=
e are also fortunate that WoRMS has funding continuity, & is well run by th=
e data team professionals and editor steering committee.

The award was a complete surprise. Thanks everybody for your support.

Best wishes to all,

Geoff

Hats off to our World Polychaeta Database leader.

WoRMS has just announced that Geoff has received an 'Achievement Award' at =
the 5th World Conference of Marine Biodiversity (Canada, Montreal, 16 May) =
for the major and very detailed contributions he has made to WoRMS in the p=
ast years, and his input & constructive feedback during his time on the Ste=
ering Committee.

The announcement also acknowledged his work as the driving force behind The=
World Polychaeta Database (http://www.marinespecies.org/polychaeta), his e=
fforts to create a more inclusive online AnnelidaBase (in analogy with Moll=
uscaBase), and for communicating the good work of WoRMS through Twitter.

Great work Geoff!! I think I can say for all that we are all massively appr=
eciative of the work you do to make our online annelid lives easier.

Best, Chris
