A malacologist colleague from Australian Museum sent these SEM images enquiring whether these might be polychaete chaetae. I consulted with Pat (as usual) and she think they indeed might be aphroditid chaetae. Any objections to this assessment?

Hi Lena,

Hope you're well.

Have just been informed that the attached SEMs are possibly polychaete setae - could you confirm whether this is the case, and if so would you have any knowledge of the particular group these may belong to?

They were retrieved from a turrid specimen from the Eastern Abyss, and quite probably a food source for the latter. Any input you may have would be most useful!
