                     CAMBRIDGE LABORATORY

                  John Innes Centre, Norwich

A motivated/determined scientist is required to join a research
team, led by David Lonsdale, investigating mitochondrial
transcription and transformation in plants.  This research is
part of a European programme aimed at introducing new traits into
higher plant mitochondria.

The appointment is for a period of three years, funded by the
European Economic Community Science programme, and in accordance
with the terms of the EEC contract only non-UK European Community
Nationals are eligible to apply.

Applicants should have a First or Second Class Honours Degree,
or equivalent, in a Science discipline, together with at least
two years' relevant postgraduate research.  Experience in
molecular biology and/or tissue culture would be advantageous.
The appointment will be made at Higher Scientific Officer level,
salary scales 12,339 to 17,227 per annum, with starting point
subject to qualifications and experience.  Non-contributory
superannuation.  Equal Opportunities Employer.
