**** POSTDOCTORAL POSITION ****
**** PLANT CELL BIOLOGY ****
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study aspects of
CELL DIVISION CONTROL in higher plants. We have a variety of tools with
which to study cdc2s, cyclins and MAP kinases in higher plants, and have
established developmental and synchronous mitotic systems in which to
explore the roles of these genes, and the proteins they encode, in plant
cell cycle regulation and in cellular transitions into and out of the
proliferative state.
Technical background of applicants should include nucleic acid
manipulation, protein biochemistry and, especially, immunological
techniques. Experience with in situ (nucleic acid and/or immunological)
methods is also welcome. While enthusiasm for issues in basic cell and
developmental biology is essential, experience in plant research is not.
Position is available for 2 years with potential for extension.
