			Postdoctoral position

	New Approach to the Physical Mapping of Genomes

A position is available July 1, 1992 in a collaborative project between
the laboratories of Arnold Bendich and Luca Comai. Novel procedures will
be developed for mapping physical distances, from 50 to several thousand
kb, between chromosomal markers using naked DNA. The objective is to
stretch DNA in an electrophoretic field and measure the distance between
markers from videorecordings of fluorescent microscopic images. 

The departments of Biochemistry, Genetics, and the new department of
Biotechnology are adjacent, providing oustanding opportunities for
interaction in Genome Research and Molecular Biology.

	Expertise in nucleic acid manipulations is required. To apply,
