                Flowering Control of Ornamental Plants

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in plant science-horticulture, and

must have completed a post-doctoral specialization in the research of

flowering control and flower development, at both the basic and the

applied-agricultural levels. Knowledge of and experience in

physiological research are required from the molecular level to the

level of the whole plant. The suitable candidate is expected to carry

on a thorough study of physiological-molecular aspects of flowering

processes and their various stages on the one hand, and to expand the

crop range available to ornamental growers in Israel and develop

methods for controlling their flowering on the other. The candidate

will also be required to submit research proposals and secure grants.

Candidates with a wide knowledge in horticulture and botany are

preferred. The suitable candidate will be given an opportunity to

complete his/her specialization in the required field, as necessary.

The candidate is required to teach courses in the field of his/her

major specialization (flowering control and flower development), and

will participate in teaching ornamental plant material.
