To the Arabidopsis Community:

     The initial response to the mapping survey distributed
several weeks ago has been rather disappointing. Please find
your copy of the survey and return it as soon as possible.
Most of you should have received two copies of the survey:
(1) by postal mail from the ABRC at Ohio State University;
and (2) by electronic mail from Mike Cherry at AAtDB
(curator at frodo.mgh.harvard.edu). This duplication of effort
was designed to simplify your job in completing the survey and
encourage a greater response. Completed forms need to be
received by October 15. Results will be added immediately
to AAtDB and compiled for presentation at the upcoming Plant
Genome meeting in San Diego. Please remember that the survey
includes two major sections: (1) linkage information on visible
and molecular markers; and (2) information on new gene symbols
currently being used in your laboratory. Your response to both
sections is requested. Please make an effort to contribute to
this important project.
