RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MOLECULAR GENETICS,
CAMBRIDGE LABORATORY, JOHN INNES CENTRE, NORWICH NR4 7UJ


Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant to
Dr David Lonsdale in the Department of Molecular Genetics.
Current research topics include the isolation and
characterization of plant mitochondrial transcription factors, 
mitochondrial transformation and the study of genes expressed
during the latter phase of male gametogenesis.

In addition to experimental duties (90%), the post holder will
be expected to take responsibility for the running of the
research group (primarily tissue culture) and have one or more
laboratory duties.

For appointment at SCIENTIFIC OFFICER applicants should have
an degree in a scientific subject or an HND/HNC.

For appointment at HIGHER SCIENTIFIC OFFICER applicants should
have an degree in a scientific subject or an HND/HNC together
with 5 years post-qualifying experience.

Experience or an interest in molecular biology and/or tissue
culture would be advantageous.
