TWO POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN PLANT MOLECULAR GENETICS
Map-Based Cloning Of cer and lec Mutants Of Arabidopsis
Two postdoctoral positions are available at the S.R. Noble
Foundation (Ardmore, OK) to pursue map-based cloning strategies in
Arabidopsis. Emphasis will be placed on molecular isolation of
two classes of mutants: (1) eceriferum (cer) mutants altered in
wax biosynthesis or distribution; and (2) a homoeotic leafy
cotyledon (lec) mutant defective in embryo development (Science
258: 1647-1650). Research will be performed in the laboratory of
Dr. Dusty Post-Beittenmiller (Genetics Section Head, Plant Biology
Division, S.R. Noble Foundation) in collaboration with Dr. David
Meinke (Professor of Botany, Oklahoma State University).
Applicants should have extensive experience in molecular biology
and a solid understanding of genetics. One position is available
immediately; the second position will begin after June 1993. The
Plant Biology Division at the Noble Foundation currently employs 9
permanent scientists, 20 postdoctoral fellows and 13 support
staff. Research interactions with plant biologists at Oklahoma
State University have been strengthened by a joint NSF EPSCoR
cluster in Molecular Analysis of Plant Biotic Stress. Interested
individuals should send a CV and three letters of recommendation
