Regarding Mark Guiltinan's question, we wrote a book chapter on how to map
genes using recombinant inbreds (Reiter et al., Methods in Arabidopsis 
Research).  Both collections of RIs are available from the seed stock 
centers.  You should test both sets of parents for polymorphisms.  

Although Mark didn't ask this question, I'd like to remind the community
that we recently published a molecular procedure for mapping new mutants
(NAR 21, 2697-2702, 1993).
