Not the standard bulletinboard fare, but just in case any of you have a
progressive, somewhat traditionally trained colleague who might be interested

Position: Turfgrass Science Associate Professor/Professor
Location:  Clemson, SC
Position Available:  December 1, 1994

Responsibilities:  This is a 12-month tenure-track position with 60% research
and 40% extension responsibilities which can be appointed at the Associate or
Full Professor level.  The successful candidate will be expected to conduct
aggressive extension and research programs in the areas of turfgrass
physiology with emphasis on environmental issues.  This position interacts
directly with faculty in other disciplines, county extension personnel, and
members of the turfgrass industry.  The opportunity to teach an advanced
turfgrass course is also available.  The position requires successful
leadership in interdisciplinary team inquiry. 

Qualifications:  Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in
horticulture/agronomy/plant science or a related field with emphasis on
environmental issues in turfgrass physiology.  Ability and willingness to
interact with other researchers and extension personnel are essential. 
Ability to attract competitive extramural funding is essential. 
Participation in the graduate program is expected.

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Benefits include a

major medical) and sabbatical privileges.
