Research Specialist Position:

A Research Specialist (salaried technician) position is available in the
laboratory of Dr. Andrew Bent at University of Illinois. My work is on
plant disease resistance genes, with a current focus on
Arabidopsis/Pseudomonas interactions. I've just finished a post-doc with
Brian Staskawicz and am starting a lab at University of Illinois in
Champaign-Urbana.

The Research Specialist position is presently funded for two years. The
job would involve alot of molecular biology and plant genetics, as well as
some protein biochemistry, plant transformation, and the like. I have in
mind a long-term position that primarily involves research (including
publication, going to meetings, etc., i.e., not dishwashing). This is not
a post-doc position. I will probably hire a person with an M.S. and
experience in plant molecular genetics.

Official job announcements are available from me or from the Department of
Agronomy at University of Illinois. If you are interested please contact
me as soon as possible, as decisions will be made in the next week or so.

Thanks -

Andrew Bent
