Post-Doctoral Fellow-Biochemistry/Protein Chemistry

The successful candidate will join a team engaged in the production of
high value proteins in plants using a novel, patented seed expression
system.   He/She will be required to develop protein purification methods
on a small and larger scale for a variety of recombinant peptides and
proteins.       He/She will also work with other team members in enhancing
the existing expression technology to maximise the expression system. 
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, protein chemistry or
molecular biology with demonstrable experience in protein purification at
least at the laboratory scale.  A background in plant biology, particularly
plant molecular biology would be an asset,  but is not essential.

The successful candidate will join a team engaged in the production of
high value proteins in plants using a novel, patented seed expression
system.  He/she will be involved in the design,  construction and
expression of novel gene fusions for the production of foreign proteins in
plant seeds.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology or
biochemistry.  A plant biology background would be desireable but is not
essential.

The University of Calgary, Department of Biological Sciences is a large
well equipped department.  Dr Moloney's lab contains all necessary
facilities for  studies in plant molecular biology and biochemistry.  
Salary for these positions will be competitive and negotiable based on the
experience of the candidate. These positions also include an extensive health
and dental plan.

immigrants will be evaluated first.
