Plant Biochemistry 1994
Michigan State University
June 27 to July 16

Sponsored by American Society of Plant Physiologists

Plant Biochemistry 1994 will be held on the Michigan State
University campus from June 27 to July 16. The course will provide
in-depth coverage of modern aspects of plant biochemistry by
approximately 25 experts from around the United States. The course
will follow a format similar to that used during the previous two
summers for the courses held in San Diego, CA and Madison, WI.
This includes both lectures and discussions. Participants will be
graduate students, postdoctoral fellows or senior scientists from
around the United States who desire an intensive survey of plant
biochemistry. Participants will be expected to have background in
general biochemistry whereas the course will focus on topics unique
to plants. The course should be especially useful for those with
background in other areas who wish to become familiar with plant
biochemistry. We anticipate that financial support from the NSF,
DOE and USDA will help defray part of the costs and will allow some
portion of student travel expenses to be covered. We expect that
student fees will be approximately $350, which will cover part of
the cost of food and lodging for the 20-day course. The local
organizing committee consists of: Kenneth Keegstra, Hans Kende, Lee
McIntosh and Jan Zeevaart.
