We have a one year research position available for a graduating senior
who plans to take a year off before attending graduate school or medical
school. The research assistant would help with studies of Arabidopsis
mutants that are defective in their developmental response to blue
light. The work would involve classical genetic techniques such as
complementation and segregation analysis, as well as molecular techniques
such as DNA and RNA isolation, Southern and Northern blotting, PCR, and
DNA sequencing. The salary would be approximately $16,000 per year.
