POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AT THE JOHN INNES INSTITUTE, UK.
A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Virus Research
at the John Innes Institute, Norwich, U.K.
The project is in collaboration with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences,
Biological Research Centre, Hungary and is aimed at the production of maize
streak virus-resistant maize plants. Molecular constructions and screening
of plants are being carried out at the JII, plant transformation and
regeneration are done in Hungary.
The applicant should be experienced in molecular biology. A knowledge of
plant transformation and/or tissue culture technology and plant virology
would be helpful.
The post is a continuation of funding by the Rockefeller Foundation and
is for two years in the first instance.
