Title:																
			RESEARCH ASSISTANT - full time 40 hrs/week---salary up to $20,000 (based 
on experience) plus benefits 

Place of work:								
			Laboratory for Crop Genome Analysis, Crop Biotechnology Center

Job Description:
			Major Duties:		Operate and use automated and manual DNA sequencers and 				
related equipment.  Responsibilities include DNA isolation, Cloning, PCR,				
Sequencing and other techniques associated with DNA sequencing and DNA 
fragment analysis.
			Occasional Duties:	Ordering laboratory materials, cleaning glassware, 					
autoclaving, making stock solutions, and bookkeeping.

Educational Qualifications:
			Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology, Biochemistry,Genetics or related 
discipline.

Work Experience and Training:
			Training in DNA sequencing, PCR and related recombinant DNA techniques.
	  Experience in sequence analysis and computers is a plus.
