	Faculty Position in Plant Biology/Plant Molecular Biology

	The Department of Biological Sciences, University of Maryland 
Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking an outstanding new colleague who is 
using molecular, biochemical and genetic approaches to address 
fundamental problems in plant biology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and 
postdoctoral experience.  The position is currently open at the Assistant 
Professor level, but candidates with appropriate qualifications may be 
considered for appointment at a higher rank.  The successful candidate 
will develop an independent research program and will contribute to the 
department's undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.  Doctoral 
degrees are offered in Biological Sciences, Molecular and Cellular 
Biology, and Marine, Estuarine and Environmental Sciences. Salaries are 
competitive and start-up funds are very generous.  Facilities are 
excellent and include a greenhouse complex undergoing renovation for 
transgenic plant research. Applicant should submit a curriculum vitae,
