Dear Dr. Fobert:
Would you or any one of your group be interested to attend the Second
International Plant Tissue Culture Conference to be held in Dhaka,
the capital of Bangladesh from December 10-12, 1995. There will be
eight sessions including one on plant transformation of rice and other
plant species. I am wondering whether anyone in your group would like to
present a paper/poster in arabidopsis transformation, particularly on
genes that regulate inflorescence-, flower- and seed development.
We can extend local hospitality to any graduate student
participant reading a paper/presenting a poster at the conference and
can waive his registration fee. The proceedings will be published by
the Oxford & IBH Publishers, New Delhi, India. The proceedings of the
first Intl.Pl tiss. cult. Conf., published by the the same Publishing
Company will be available in the market shortly.
Dhaka's climate in December is very pleasant with temperature
ranging from 48 to 80 F. Spouses are welcome.
Special trips to mangrove forests in the Sundarban area where the
Royal Bengal Tiger abounds in and to Cox's Bazaar which has the largest
sea beech in the world may be arranged on special request by prior
arrangement with the Bangladesh Tourish Bureau.
