Hello netters,

thank you from the answers about chicken antibodies. The bottom line is
that seems to be easier to produce antibodies in chickens than in rabbits and
you can get a lot. On the other hand, you can't do protein A
immunoprecipitation, because IgY from chicken eggs doesn't bind to protein A.
The companies specialized in egg-derived antibodies are:

 Gallus Immunotech
 R.R. 33 , Fergus
 Ontario, Canada
 N1M 2W4
contact: Dr. Kelsye Coulter, phone (and fax): 519-843-2918

 Cocalico Biologicals
 449 Stevens Road
 Reamstown, PA 17567
 Voice (717) 336-1990
 Fax (717) 336-1993

A detailed procedure is described in:

Cell Biology, a Laboratory Handbook. Jullio E. Cellis (ed.). vol.2: 282-290.

 Good luck.
