The solution? RE: over-supply of Ph.D. s

The suggestion that Ph.D.s have skills that could be applied in other
(e.g. business) settings is a good one.  Many years ago Harvard offered
a summer program on "introduction to business for Ph.D.s" which those
of us who took it felt was very valuable.  It only ran for three years, but 
I imagine other schools have or have had similar programs.

You've got to take responsibility.  Everyone is an entrepreneur.  It 
can be done.
